Kensington

Kensington is more than Mission Hills East. Tidy to a fault, the area is replete with scores of pre-war Spanish homes and very few rental properties.  Kensington is bordered by canyons to the north and Adams Avenue to the south, creating a tightly knit and well-kept neighborhood. Prices have always lagged behind Mission Hills and Hillcrest, primarily due to the fact that there were real mean streets not too far south of Adams Avenue. That and poor public schools have restrained prices. Over the past decade, the very small village area has been revitalized with very good restaurants and I suspect the resurgence in City Heights will increase demand for Kensington homes over the next decade. If you believe in San Diego’s urban promise, investing in Kensington is a sure bet.
